GSL-1200X-MH100 is a tube furnace designed to use under a high magnetic field with a controlled atmosphere up to 1100°C. It is an ideal tool for researching material properties under high-temperature and high-magnetic-field conditions. ( > 10 T)

  • Recommended Sample size: Ø20×250 mm
  • 10 kW DC power supply 
  • PID programmable temperature control
  • SS316 non-magnetic austenitic furnace case with water cooling
  • Dual spiral-wound heating elements to minimize Lorentz force.
  • Minimum bore size of magnets Ø100 mm

Heating Area

  • 750 mm heating length
  • 250 mm @ ±5 °C uniform heating zone

  • Heating rate: ≀ 10 ℃/min

Temperature Controller

  • Eutothermo-3000 PID programmable temperature controller
  • 50 programmable segments
  • Overheating and TC failure alarm
  • Temperature control accuracy: +/- 0.1 °C
  • One temperature monitor is built to keep the tube surface temperature < 70 °C
  • RS-485 remote communication interface

Thermocouple

  • S-type thermocouple for temperature control of the processing tube
  • T-type temperature sensor for monitoring tube surface temperature

 Heating elements

  • Double coins made of Mo resistance wire 
  • Only use under an inert gas atmosphere!

Processing Tube

  • Ø30 × Ø25 × 1000 mm quartz tube
Flanges
  • A pair of SS316 flanges for hermetic operation. 
  • 1/4" compression tube fittings (SS316) for gas inlet and outlet
Pressure
  • < 3 psig

DC Power Supply

  • 10 kW DC programmable power supply
  • Regulated power output 0-24VDC

Chilled Water 

  • Water cooling is required to keep the furnace surface temperature <25°C
  • MTI highly recommends getting a KJ5300 recirculating water chiller or equivalent

 Vacuum Pump

 (Optional)

  • A vacuum pump is optional to quickly evacuate residual air in the processing tube. 
    • 50 mtorr can be achieved by a mechanical pump

  • A schematic gas diagram is recommended as follows
