 EF1700L is a 1300oC or 1700 °C Max electrolytic molten salt furnace with two electrodes that can accept a maximum DC power of up to 30VDC and 2000A.  The furnace features a 200x200x200 mm air-tight heating chamber designed for the placement of a graphite or reactor.   It is an excellent tool for refining noble or rare earth metals from molten salt under a controlled atmosphere.

  • Power:208 - 240VAC,  single phase,  50/60Hz,  6 KW Max.

Atmosphere-controlled heating chamber

  • Chamber size: 200 x 200 x 200 mm  (about 8" × 8" × 8"), 8 Liter
  • Atmosphere-controlled steel chamber for oxygen, inert gas, and vacuum conditions.
  • MoSi2 heating elements
  • Max. working temperature:  two options
  1.  1300 °C heated by SiC 
  2. 1700 °C  neated by MoSi2 
  • Eurothermo temperature controller with +/- 0.5 °C accuracy is available upon request at an extra cost

Air Tight Flange

  • One set of water cold flanges is built on top of the furnace with a quick clamp
  • Three feedthroughs are built on the flange to connect 6 mm dia. electrodes, which are inserted into a graphite crucible
  • 30 mm diameter quartz window is installed on the flange to observe electrolytic processing
  • Optional:  the flange can be lifted by an electric motor to replace the electrode easily at  an extra cost

Eletrolyte Electrodes and  Crucible

  • Three graphite electrodes (6 mm diameter) are inserted into an electrolytic crucible through the air-tight water-cooled flange.
  • Electrolytic crucible made of graphite is available upon request, up to 150 mm diameter x 160 mm H
  • The electrode lift fixture is built in the to flange
  • One recirculating water chiller with 16L/minute flow is included for cooling the electrodes
  • One vacuum pump with a 156L/minute speed is included to remove oxygen before operation

DC Power Supply (optional)

  • Digital DC power supply is optional
  • Voltage:  0- 30VDC adjustable.
  • Current:  0 - 70A adjustable.
  • A higher current DC power supply is available up to 2000A  at extra cost

Compliance
