 VEF-1100-64-L is a larger electrolytic furnace designed for molten salt reactions, especially for Molten Salt Electrolytic Graphitization (MSEG)

Features

  1. 1100°C maximum working temperature
  2. 40x40x40 cm Hermetic chamber for atmosphere control
  3. Choices of Ø12.7 mm electrodes
  4. Manual vertical travel mechanism for electrode loading/retrieval before/after electrolysis with an air-tight flange

SPECIFICATION:

Power
  • 9.5 KW, 208 - 240V single phase, 50/60Hz
  • AC 208, 400V, 480V, 3-phase is also available upon request.
  • A 10-foot power cord is included. No power plug. 
Furnace 
  • 5 side heating  chamber with dimensions of 400x400x400 mm  ( ~64L, 16 x 16 x 16") 
  • Working temperature ≤1100℃ Max.   1000 °C continuous.
  • Heating rate: ≤ 20℃/min
  • Uniform Area 300 × 300 × 300 mm ±2℃ 
Temperature Controller 
  • PID automatic control and auto-tune function
  • ±1°C accuracy
  • 50 programmable segments for precise process
  • Built-in interlocks for overheating and thermocouple failure
Thermocouple
  • K type for furnace temperature control
  • K type for in-situ temperature monitor (optional)
Crucible
  • Ø300×  300 mm graphite Crucible as a reactor
  • A Quartz Positioning Frame for electrode alignment
Electric Feedthrough
  • Three 1/4" copper electric feedthroughs with copper barrel connectors for connections with any type of Ø12.7 mm electrodes (electrodes are not included)
  • 1/2" compression tube fittings
  • Graphite electrodes are available upon request
Thermal Block
  • Alumina Foam Thermal Block(Ø190 mm x 60 mm H)
Pressure
  • <3 psig

Secondary Materials Charger (Optional)

  • Secondary materials feeder with a KF25 Port
  • Three different materials can be filled in the feeder during the experiment. (50ml each zone)

Water Chiller 

  • 58L/minute water cooling is included to cool the vacuum flange and the electrode

Vacuum Pump (Optional)
  • The vacuum pump is optional for pump-purge cycles
  • MTI recommends getting a 156 L/min vacuum pump or equivalent for a pressure <5e-2 torr.
DC Power Supply   0- 3VDC , 5KW is available upon request
