VEF-1200 is an electrolytic furnace designed for molten salt reactions. Especially for Molten Salt Electrolytic Graphitization (MSEG)

Features

  1. 1100°C maximum working temperature
  2. Hermetic chamber for atmosphere control
  3. Choices of Ø6 mm electrodes
  4. Manual vertical travel mechanism for electrode loading/retrieval before/after electrolysis with an air-tight flange

Furnace 
  • VBF-1200X top-loading box furnace
  • Working temperature ≤1200℃ Max.   1100 °C continuous.
  • Heating rate: ≤20℃/min
  • Heating Zone: Ф240 * 245mm   ( 11 Litter）
Vacuum Chamber 
  • Vacuum chamber:  Ф200 * 425mm made of quartz
  • Nominal capacity： 13.2 L
  • (Optional) SS 310 chamber for operation <900°C
Temperature Controller 
  • PID automatic control and auto-tune function
  • ±1°C accuracy
  • 50 programmable segments for precise process
  • Built-in interlocks for overheating and thermocouple failure
Thermocouple
  • K type for furnace temperature control

  • Ø120 × 114 × 150 mm Quartz Crucible as a reactor
  • A Quartz Positioning Frame for electrode alignment
Electric Feedthrough
  • Three 1/8" copper electric feedthroughs with copper barrel connectors for connections with any types of Ø6 mm electrodes (electrodes are not included)
  • 1/4" compression tube fittings
  • Graphite electrodes are available upon request
Thermal Block
  • Alumina Foam Thermal Block(Ø190 mm x 60 mm H)
Pressure
  • <3 psig

Secondary Materials Charger (Optional)
  • Secondary materials feeder with a KF25 Port
  • Three different materials can be filled in the feeder during the experiment. (50ml each zone)
Water Chiller (Optional)
  • Water cooling is required to cool the vacuum flange.
  • MTI recommends getting a KJ5000 recirculating water chiller or equivalent
Vacuum Pump (Optional)
  • The vacuum pump is optional for pump-purge cycles
  • MTI recommends getting a 156 L/min vacuum pump or equivalent for a pressure <5e-2 torr.

  • NRTL Certification is available upon request; additional charges will apply
Note

 For refining air-sensitive materials, the molten salt reactor can be placed inside a glovebox
