 VMP-1750 is a customized furnace for recovering valuable metals from oxide slags. It combines induction heating and reverse-polarity transferred Arc Plasma together in a high vacuum chamber.   The induction heating will melt slags in a graphite crucible,  and  water cold anode electrode will produce a high-temperature plasma to separate noble metals from oxide slag by electrolysis.

SPECIFICATIONS:
 Vacuum Chamber
  • Stainless steel vacuum chamber ID Ø315 mm × 315 mm H
  • Water-cooled SS chamber for prolonged melting time 《= 3 hrs.
  • Ø120 mm quartz observation window. 
  • DN160 ISO-K port for connection with a turbo pump
  • KF40/25 port for connection with a rough pump
  • 1/4" gas inlet and bleed valve as a gas outlet
  • Pressure safety relief valve @ 3 psig
Induction Heater
  • 15KW (30-80Khz) Dual Station Bench Top Induction Heater with Timer Control & Temp Controller Port
  • Power input:  208-240V AC, 50/60 Hz, three phases, 50 A
  • One control panel adjusts the heating power output with automatic PID temperature control via C type thermal couple
  • IR temperature sensor is optional at extra cost if the working temperature is> 1800 °C
  • Two induction coils are included.
    • Coil 1: Ø72 OD × Ø62 ID × 80 H mm;
    • Coil 2: Ø102 OD × Ø92 ID × 100 H mm

Graphite Crucible 

  • Two graphite crucibles are included
    • Graphite crucible 1: Ø47 OD × Ø35 ID × 88 H mm; working volume ~70 ml (up to 400g Fe alloy) 
    • Graphite crucible 2: Ø75 OD × Ø60 ID × 105 H mm; working volume ~250 ml (up to 1200g Fe alloy)
  • One water-cooled copper electrode is connected to the graphite crucible on the bottom as cathode.

Arc Generator and Electrode

 

  • 208 - 240 VAC,1ph, 50/60Hz, 7.3 kW  included
  • Output DC output: 315A/22.6V @ 60% duty cycle 
    244A/20.0V @ 100% duty cycle (continuous operation)
  • The HF function is included for easy arcing without contact with slags.
  • One water-cold copper electrode is inserted into the vacuum chamber and connected to the arc generator as an anode for electrolysis

Vacuum Pump

  • One 156 L/m Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump is included to achieve a 10e-2 torr vacuum. Turbopump is available upon request
  • Anti-Corrosive Capacitance Diaphragm Gauge (Gas Independent), with a measurement range up to 3.8 x 10E-5 torr, is included with a mechanical pump
  • One flowmeter 0- 1000ml is built in the gas line
Water Chiller
  • One recirculating water chiller with a 58 L/minute flow rate is included 
  • Temperature range: 5 - 30°C
  • Water Flow Rate: 58 L/min
  • Water Tank: 70 Liters made of stainless steel
  • Power 220VAC +/- 10%, three-phase, 7.1KW , 50/6- Hz
Compliance
