SP-MSM-800A is a complete turn-key arc-melting system with a water-cooled high vacuum chamber, melting power supply, options for interchangeable melting cavities, vacuum casting, and electromagnetic stirring. It allows researchers to explore the next generation of alloy.

Features:

  • Water-cooled SS vacuum chamber which can reach vacuum up to 10-6 torr
  • Powerful arc melting power supply, which enables arc ignition without contact with the sample
  • Water-cooled copper hearth with various types of crucibles and functions.
  • Motor-assisted arc melting electrode with 100 mm vertical stroke length
  • A wobble stick is built-in for sample flipping

Melting Chamber

  • High vacuum water-cooled chamber with a cooling-water jacket made of SS304
  • Vacuum level: 5×10^-6 torr via a 1200L/s turbopump, or higher vacuum with larger turbopump.
  • Leakage: <5.0 x 10^-4 (mbar·l)/s (5.0 x 10-5 Pa·m3/s).
  • The chamber size: 400mm Dia x 350mm L
  • Two tinted observation windows (dia. 100 mm) on the front for monitoring the melting process
  • Hinged front door
  • The sample manipulator is built-in for sample flipping without breaking the vacuum
  • Easy sample loading and unloading by the chamber lifting mechanism.

(Standard)

  • A water-cooled copper hearth with four cavities 
  • Melting capacity: up to 300 g iron based alloy
  • Electromagnetic stirring for the largest cavities.


Single Cavity Copper Hearth (optional) 

  • Single cavity water-cooled copper hearth for melting 1000 g steel. 
  • Electromagnetic stirring
Vacuum Casting Copper Hearth (optional)
  • A water-cooled vacuum casting copper hearth 
    • Cavity 1: Ø80×35 mm 
    • Cavity 2: Ø65×25 mm 
    • Cavity 3: Ø65×25 mm 
    • Cavity 4: Ø50×20 mm for gettering. 
    • Cavity 5: Ø60×20 mm with Ø1 mm with vacuum casting mold
