SP-MSM-300 is a complete turn-key arc-melting system with a water-cooled high vacuum chamber, melting cavities, vacuum casting, and electromagnetic stirring for up to 1000 g steel. It allows researchers to explore the next generation of alloy.

  • Water-cooled stainless steel vacuum chamber with a vacuum of 10^-6 torr
  • 630 A arc melting power supp with arc ignition without contact of sample
  • Water-cooled copper hearth with multiple cavities for multiple samples and gettering. 
  • The adjustable arc electrode to melt of multiple samples easily and uniformly. 
  • A wobble stick is built-in for sample flipping without breaking vacuum
  • Interchangeable copper hearths with electromagnetic stirring or vacuum casting.

    Cavity 2: Ø35×17.5 mm 
    Cavity 3: Ø35×17.5 mm 
    Cavity 4: Ø35×17.5 mm 
  2. Copper hearth for vacuum casting
  • Cavity 1: Ø40×20 mm

  • Cavity 3: Ø60×20 mm with electromagnetic stirring.

  • KJ 5300 recirculating water chiller with 16L/min water flow and 6K BTU/hr cooling capacity
  • Digital Temperature Control: 5 - 30ÂșC adjustable with ± 0.3 °C accuracy
  • Refrigerant: R410-a
Working Gas (Optional)
 
  • High-purity inert gas with at least 5N purity (>99.999%) is required (not included)
  • 5% Hydrogen + 95% Argon gas may be used to prevent oxidation during the melting process
  • High-purity Ti sample melting may help absorb oxygen a lot
