Feature

• Combined with VGB-6 glove box with gas purification system and automatic purging function to ensure both oxygen and humidity to be less than 1 PPM in the whole system with Max. Vacuum Level of 100Pa (Please Click the picture left for glove box detail specification)w
• 15KW induction power supply is included to surround the quartz tube for melting under an inert gas atmosphere with precise temperature control
• Graphite is used for crucible and insulation layers
• Quartz Chamber Dimension: ∅130 mm (OD) × ∅122 mm (ID) × 280 mm

Structure 
 

• The 5" quartz tube with a vacuum-sealed SS flange is built on the bottom of the standard glove box.
• Power Supply: AC 220V, single phase, 50HZ for VGB-6
• Output Power: 1.7KW for VGB-6
• 304 stainless-steel is used for shell material with two HEPA dust filter (filtering particles ≥ 0.3 um)
• Purification Cylinder: equipped with BASF deoxygenation material and UOP dehumidification materials
• Water Probe: MICHELL (USA) brand, 0–1000 ppm, touch screen display, accuracy: 0.1 ppm
• Oxygen Transmitter: Bosch (Germany) brand, 0–1000 ppm, touch screen display, accuracy: 0.1 ppm
•  Pressure Sensor: Setra (USA) brand, -2500 to 2500 Pa, touch screen display, accuracy: ±1 Pa
• Equipped with a two-stage rotary vane vacuum pump (with oil mist filter)
  

Induction Heating

• 15KW induction power supply is included
• Power Supply: AC220V, three phases, 60HZ
• Max. Output Power: 15KW
• Insulation Layers: Three-layer structure (graphite felt – alumina – high-temperature felt)
• The induction coil surrounded the outside of 5" quartz tube to heat the crucible inside the tube
• Coil Dimensions: 156 mm (OD) × 140 mm (ID) × 90 mm (H)

• Protective Shield: Three tempered glass panels encasing the quartz chamber for safety

• Cooling Fans: Four fans for enhanced heat dissipation
• Cooling Water Requirements: ≥ 0.2 MPa, ≥ 6 L/min

Quartz Chamber and Sealed Flange

• ∅130 mm (OD) × ∅122 mm (ID) × 280 mm Quartz furnace tube is included
• Lower Flange: Stainless steel flange with a needle valve and KF-25 vacuum port fixed on the furnace frame
• Upper Flange: Hinged type with 1/4" thermocouple feedthrough, needle valve, and barbed fitting

Note: The vacuum pump is not necessary because the purification system of the glove box will make quartz tube O2 and H2O less than 1 PPM

Crucible & Refractory Liners

• High Purity Graphite Crucible: 50.8 mm (OD) × 40 mm (ID) × 115 mm (H), with lid, maximum capacity: 50% of crucible volume
•      
• the 2" graphite crucible is inserted inside the induction coil for sample melting.
• The fibrous alumina layer surrounds the crucible as the thermal insulation layer
• Three-layer special design refractory liner for thermal insulation to keep quartz temperature < 200oC

• BN liner is available upon request to avoid sample contamination from graphite
• For low melting point alloys (MP< 600oC), Stainless-steel (SS316) is a better choice, which is available upon request.

Temperature Control System & Thermocouple

• Precision PID-controlled digital temperature system with Max. programmable 28 segments is included with C type thermocouple(∅6.35 mm × 400 mm L)
• Protection Features: Overheat and thermocouple failure safeguards
• Temperature Accuracy: ±3 °C
• Heating Temperature Range: 800°C–1600°C (continuous); 2000°C (up to 30 minutes)
• Heating Rates: Room temperature to 1000°C (≤1°C/s), 1000°C to 1600°C (≤1°C/2s), 1600°C to 2000°C (≤1°C/4s)

Recirculation Water Chiller (optional)

• The recirculating water chiller with a 15L/min flow rate and 12 L capacity is available upon request
• Digital temperature control and alerts are built into the chiller

Application Note:

• A two-stage pressure regulator must be installed on the gas cylinder to limit the pressure to below 6 bars for safe operation
• Maximum internal pressure: 0.02 MPa
• Regularly perform regeneration to maintain the optimum purification efficiency
• The O2 sensor is consumable and its expected life span is around one year. Please order O2 sensor replacement at MTI at extra cost
• Avoid using flammable, explosive, or toxic gases unless proper safety measures are in place. MTI is not responsible for issues arising from hazardous gas usage.
• During experiments, ensure inert gas protection to prevent damage to the graphite crucible and thermocouple.
