  1. RTP-MS-AR is an automatic Ultrafast Heating and Pressing system (UHP) with a heating speed of up to 150°C/s, 2500°C, and 500N Max Load inside a high vacuum chamber made of stainless steel.  The automated pellet loading and unloading system is integrated into the press, which can press 8 pellets ( 10 mm  ID)  per batch.   This system may be considered as an automatic SPS furnace

  • Flash sintering up to 150°C/s and 2500 °C

Temperature Control
  • A digital IR pyrometer made in Germany for temperature control through a Ø35 mm observation window
    • Temperature reading range 1000 - 3000 °C
    • Temperature accuracy ± (0.5% F.S. + 2 °C)
    • Temperature reproducibility ± 0.3% F.S.
  • Manual heating mode
    • Temperature is regulated manually by DC
  • Auto heating mode
    • Temperature is regulated by a PID temperature controller
    • 30 programmable temperature segments
    • Accuracy ± 3 °C
Vacuum Pump (Optional)
  • 240 L/min mechanical vacuum pump
  • 260 L/s turbopump station
Water Chiller (Optional)
  • Water chiller is required but not included.
  • MTI recommends getting a KJ6200 recirculating water chiller or equivalent.

Standard Operating Procedure

( SOP）
  1. Manually load mixed alloy powder into the graphite die, then put it into the station of the die up to 8 samples.   (Automatic powder dispensing and loading are available upon request )
  2. Program sintering temperature, time, and pressure for each sample via the Laptop included
  3. Touch the running button, then the machine will automatically work as follows:
  • Open the vacuum chamber --- the robotic arm will pick up a graphite die and put it into the heater position inside the chamber
  • Close the vacuum chamber, and start the vacuum to the desired level. Then purge inert Ar gas three times, and keep the chamber in a gas-flow ( 100ml/minute ) condition
  • The electric press will apply pressure to the desired pressure  ( 500N, Max) and keep the pressure constant
  • Start heating at the desired heating rate and sintering time. 
  • Stop heating, and wait for the die to cool down to < 200 °C, then open the chamber 
  • The robotic arm will pick up the graphite die from the chamber and put it into the stripping machine, then push the sintered pellet out of the die. 
  • The robotic arm put the used die back in a die station, then picked up a new die to start a new sample preparation
