Lab Scale Roll-to-Roll Flat Tape Casting System (Max. 6" Width) w/ Drying Heater - MSK-AFA-EC150

MSK-AFA-EC150-LD is a compact and continuous tape caster for battery electrode sheets with a circulating drying heater. It contains an electrostatic dust remover for ensuring a particle-free coating environment. The coating films can be up to 1.5 mm thickness on a sheet with 150 mm width and 4 m length in a roll-to-roll pattern (substrate reeling out -> blade coating-> heated circulation drying-> and final electrode winding). 
A hybrid slot die head or ultrasonic spray head can be installed for realizing multifunctional coatings.

  • 208 – 240VAC, 50/60Hz, Single phase
  • 110VAC is available via a 2000W transformer.

  • 1.7 KW

Coating Method & Precision
  • Tape casting is done with a doctor blade ( Film applicator) on a flat plate: Substrate reeling out -> blade coating-> heated circulation drying-> and final electrode winding
  • Doctor blade coating technique (click the picture on the left to see details)
  • Coating thickness precision: 10 microns.
  • One static duster is pre-installed before coating blade. 

Coating Width
  • Max. coating width: 150mm
  • Max. substrate width: 200mm 

Coating Speed
  • 0~800 mm/min 

Coating Thickness
  • 0~5 mm adjustable
Max. Coating Length
  • Depending on the coating and substrate thickness. (Typically, you can get 4 meters of an electrode coated with 10 um thick foil, 100 um thick coating per run)

Rolling Diameter
  • 160 mm max. (roller O.D is 63.5mm)
Heater 
  • The bottom bed is made of aluminum alloy, which enables the maximum heating temperature up to 100 °C via a digital temperature controller with +/-1ºC accuracy.
  • The heating bed dimension: 1000 mm (L) x 215 mm (W)
  • The top cover has a transparent glass with a venting fan

Compliance
  • CE Certified
  • NRTL (UL61010) or CSA certification is available upon request at extra cost.
Optional
  • You may order a 150 mm wide slot-die film applicator to covert the machine into roll to roll slot-die coater with +/- 2-micron accuracy ( click picture 1 below to order )
  • A peristaltic Slurry PumpPic.2) can be used for the delivery of slurry delivery during the coating process.
  • One set of ultrasonic spray heads can be added to the coater to achieve spraying coating (Pic. 3)
  • The R2R coater may be upgraded as 3 in 1 multi-functional coater as Pic. 4
