Roll to Roll Heating Calender (8" W) up to 110C for Multi-layer Laminating - HRP-03RRL

HRP-03RRL is a 8" width roll-to-roll hot rolling press by modular design for either hot rolling one layer or laminating two-layer of foil materials together. The rollers can be heated up to 110°C during the roll-to-roll processing.  It is designed for preparing polymer or soft metal-based flexible electrode sheets for battery research, especially for solid Lithium or flexible battery.

  • Roll to roll feeding with automatic tension control with optional alignment function
  • Adjustable pressing thickness up to 2 mm thickness
  • Rollers made of high-quality tool steel with Cr plated 
  • Heatable roller up to 110°C with a central heating element
  • The R2R hot press can be placed into a dual-chamber glovebox

  • 110 maximum for less than 1 hour (<100 continuously)
  • Recommended heating rate: ~3/minute
  • Power of heating element: 400W (total of four heating elements are installed)
  • Precision temperature control with +/- 2.5°C accuracy

Roll to Roll Fixture



  • Two 8" width feeding rolls to deliver one or two-layer substrate into the hot press
  • One winding roll with automatic tension force control
  • Separatable roll to roll modular for easy shipping and assembling
  • The alignment control function is available as an option
  •  Note:
    • Proper alignment is required during installation

Application Notes

  • Multi-step thickness calendering needed: While calendering the sample sheet, make each calendering decrement of 0.02mm compared to the sheet original thickness
  • Clean the roller surface for each rolling and Use acetone to clean and lubricate when not in use to avoid corrosion
