Die-GP-12 graphite die is good for dry pellet pressing ceramic material at high temperature up to 2000 ÂșC.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Model Die-GP-12

Whole set pressing die includes
  • One 0.5"(12.7mm) I.D. core die made of high purity & high strength graphite
  • One sleeve for core dies protection
  • Two pushing rods are highly polished to ensure a perfect fit in the die.
  • One pressing pole for releasing the sample from the die only.
  • Max. Working temperature:
    • < 399ÂșC in air
    • > 400 ÂșC needs inert gas protection
  • Max. sustainable pressure is 100 MPa (~1.2 ton force applied on the die)
  • The die is specifically designed for our Compact Hot Pellet Press to meet the high-temperature requirement


Steps to make a sample pellet

  • Mixing and grinding chemical powder in an agate mortar or ball mill
  • Calcine mixed the powder in a high-temperature furnace at a suitable temperature
  • Grinding the calcined powder again in a mortar
  • Put the calcined powder into the die
  • Pressing a sample by a pressing machine under suitable pressure
  • Take out a pellet sample from die
  • Sintering the pellet under suitable temperature
  • Then, a new material sample is formed!
