EQ-SPCW is splitable pouch cells with a double quartz window for X-ray or Raman in-situ analysis. The split pouch cell is made of Nylon or Peek with an inside dimension of 19x18 mm.  Its detachable design allows you to test the pouch cell behavior as well as structural changes of electrodes easily, quickly, and cost-effectively.
MTI has granted the patent 2016205320316 for a Split-able Pouch Cell with Quartz Window - EQ-SPCW since June 2016.

Design Features
  • 30 mm diameter quartz window installed on two sides of pouch cell for transparency measurement
  • The pouch cell is sealed by a PTFE O-ring without liquid and gas leaking
  • One pressure gauge was installed on top to monitor pressure.  You may remove the gauge and use 1/4 female port to inject electrolyte into the pouch cell
  • The pouch cell is easy to assemble by only four cap mounting screws
  • It is easy to separate after test for microstructure analysis
  • Space-saving, compact design allows you to put it into the glove box

    • Body: PEEK (Poly Ether Ether Ketone), which is a semicrystalline thermoplastic with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties that are retained to high temperatures and O-ring: Sealed by electrolyte corrosive-proof FKM O-rings

    Application Note
    • In order to make a metal-air pouch cell, you can drill holes in the case. We can help you do that at an extra cost
    • You may use an MTI die cutter to prepare electrodes layer by layer or make winding-type pouch cell electrodes (click the picture below to see the machine)
    • You may need an ultrasonic welder to weld electrode tape to connect to the split cell
