Packing
Four-layer packaging technology is employed. One side of the sodium sheet is covered with aluminum foil, serving as both a support and current collector while also protecting the sodium. Additionally, both sides are covered with protective films to prevent oxidation. The sodium sheets are then placed in plastic bottles, which are further enclosed in aluminum-plastic bags and finally packaged in iron cans for long-term storage and safety.
Operation
The package must be opened inside a glove box with Argon Gas and moisture less than 2%RH.
Open the aluminum bag and take out the whole plastic bottle. After taking a certain amount of sodium chips and tightly close the bottle cap.
Using a tweezer with a flat tip to hold the sodium chip to and then remove the protection membranes with a sharp tweezer. Blue and transparent membranes are removed in sequence.
During the battery cell assembling, the aluminum side should be faced to the cell case and sodium metal side should be faced to a separator.
Shipping Limitation
Shipments of Sodium chips are described as "UN1428, Sodium, 4.3, PG I".
Under Hazard Class 4.3 "Dangerous when Wet".
Hazardous Material; Ship within the Continental US and via UPS Ground only.
